The
Resurrection: How We Know It's True
The heart of the matter lies not in the precise accuracy of every detail in the
Gospels, but in the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. That is what
sparked the Christian movement into existence. That is why people were per.
suaded that he was the Son of God. These words of Paul in Romans (1:3f.) look
like an early creed he is quoting. 'the gospel of his Son, who was descended
from David according to the flesh and designated Son of God in power ... by his
resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord.' He was one of us all right:
descended from David. He was Son of God, no less: and he showed it by his
resurrection from the dead.
